These terms are an agreement between you and Swift Platforms, which runs OdinHorse. By creating an account or using the site you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. Please read them — they're written to be short and plain.
1. It's free — all of it
Every OdinHorse feature — public and private projects, unlimited collaborators, the live code editor, code runner, issues, stars, forks, messaging, share links, file history and the certified-programmer blue tick — is free. There are no subscriptions, paid tiers or hidden charges. If that ever changes, existing features you rely on will not be put behind a paywall without at least 90 days' notice and a free way to export everything.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, you need your parent's or guardian's permission.
- Give accurate information and keep your password secret. You're responsible for what happens under your account; tell us right away if you think it's been compromised.
- One person per account. Accounts may not be sold or transferred. Automated sign-ups are not allowed.
3. Your content stays yours
You keep all rights in the code, files, text and images you upload ("your content"). You give us only the limited permission we need to run the service: to store, back up, display and transmit your content to the people you choose (everyone, for public projects; your collaborators and share-link holders, for private ones). For public projects you also allow other users to view, star and fork (make a personal copy of) them within OdinHorse. Add a licence file to your project if you want to grant people rights beyond that.
This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other users already forked from a public project, and short-lived backups.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use OdinHorse to:
- upload malware, phishing kits or code designed to harm people or systems, or use the code runner to attack, mine cryptocurrency, or reach systems you aren't authorised to;
- upload code or content you don't have the right to share, or violate anyone's copyright, trademark or privacy;
- publish other people's personal data (passwords, ID numbers, phone numbers, addresses, private messages) without their permission;
- harass, threaten, impersonate or discriminate against anyone, or post sexual content involving minors (reported to authorities);
- spam, scrape the site in bulk, or interfere with its security or availability;
- break any law that applies to you or to us.
Use Report on any project, profile or issue to flag content that breaks these rules.
5. Collaboration
Project owners decide who can view or edit their project and can remove collaborators at any time. Edits made by collaborators belong to the project, and every saved version is kept in the file history. Be kind in issues, chats and messages, and respect blocks.
6. Certification (blue tick)
The blue tick is free. It's awarded automatically to members with enough approved projects, as explained on the certification page. It means "an active builder on OdinHorse" — it is not an academic or professional qualification. We may remove it if projects are rejected or the account breaks these terms.
7. Moderation, suspension and ending
We may review reported content and remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms or the law. Where reasonable, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond (use the contact form to appeal). You can stop using OdinHorse and delete your account at any time from Settings; deletion is permanent.
8. Availability and disclaimers
OdinHorse is provided free, "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted or lose data — please keep your own copy of important work (download your .zip or use Download my data). Code you run in the code runner is your responsibility.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data arising from your use of a free service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
10. Changes
If we change these terms in a material way we'll update the version above and ask you to accept the new version when you next log in. If you don't agree, you can export your data and delete your account.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. We'll always try to resolve a problem with you directly first — get in touch. If we can't, the courts of Uganda have jurisdiction, without taking away any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
