Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Every feature is free for everyone — public and private projects, unlimited collaborators, the editor, code runner, issues, certification and more. No subscriptions, no card required, no ads.
How is this different from GitHub?
You can code together live in the browser without learning git, run code instantly, chat inside each project, find collaborators by skill and university, share private projects with a lecturer through a link, and earn a free certified badge. Private projects and unlimited collaborators are free too.
Who can see my projects?
Public projects can be seen by any logged-in member. Private projects are visible only to you, the collaborators you add, and people you send a share link to. You can switch a share link off at any time.
Who can see my email?
Nobody, unless you switch on "Show my email on my profile" in Settings → Privacy.
How do I invite someone to my project?
Open the project → Manage collaborators, or find them on Find collaborators and choose "Invite to project". You decide whether they are an Editor or a Viewer.
How do I get the blue tick?
Have at least 5 approved projects. It's free and appears automatically — see the certification page for your progress.
I lost a change. Can I get it back?
Yes. Open the project → History, pick the file, and restore any earlier saved version.
How do I download all my data?
Go to Settings → Your data → Download my data. You get a JSON file with your profile, projects, files, issues, messages and more.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Danger zone. Deletion is immediate and permanent; download your data first if you want to keep it.
How do I report abuse or stolen code?
Use the Report button on the project, issue or profile. A moderator will review it.
